National Energy Foundation award winners succeed in Europe
Congratulations to two NEF Ace Award-winning initiatives, which recently went on to win in Europe’s top energy awards. Hook Norton Low Carbon won in the Energy Neutral Village category, while EcoBicester also won in the Energy Smart Initiative by a Local Authority category. The awards took place in Arnhem in the Netherlands and both entries were competing against finalists from across North West Europe.

CoRE training courses. Retrofit Coordination and Retrofit Asset Management
The Retrofit Coordination course creates technical leaders for low-energy retrofit projects. The
Retrofit Asset Management course focuses on devising, delivering and maxmising the impact of retrofit projects in the social housing sector. Both courses are available across the UK on a variety of dates between January and March 2015, and are designed and delivered by some of the leading retrofit experts in the world.

GDHIF reopens
The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund reopens today with the release of £30 million and more to follow quarterly. Applications up to £5,600 can be made by households in England and Wales to help with the cost of installing energy saving measures such as solid wall insulation, double glazing, boilers, cavity wall and floor insulation. The £30 million is split into two categories: up to £24 million for solid wall insulation, and up to £6 million for two measures from a list of home improvements available under the scheme.

Autumn Statement 2014
