Mission Accomplished.

The Nyarutooma School Boarders' Dormitories is now complete. We are so grateful for the hard work put in by all our Ugandan tradesmen and all of our wonderful supporters for donating towards this project. The bunk beds will be delivered soon along with mattresses and bedding. Something we still need help with is funding the shipment of the handmade bed covers from Brisbane. If you have connections in the freight industry please contact me to discuss.

This means we can move onto the final project for the Nyarutooma Primary School... a new kitchen! This kitchen will produce nearly 300 meals per day while the boarders are at school. It will have provision for a pantry, a small office, two wood burning stoves and more. The kitchen costing is around $15,000. You can donate directly via our website or how about reaching out to join our fundraising team?
We're looking for a new committee member to join our team. If you have a love for all things marketing & promotions please have a look at the Seek Volunteer ad and reach our with any questions. This is a pivotal role in our organisation so we're looking for someone with a heart for helping others and commitment to the cause.

Shepherds Arms Children's Home, Bohol.

It's been a VERY busy start to the year for the children and carers at SACH. The clean up and rebuild after the devastation that Super Typhoon Odette brought in December has been extensive and ongoing. While all of the main structural damage was replaced quickly, there is still work to be completed on the gardens and pig farm. The illustrations above were drawn by one of the children, XC, to show the new vision for the grounds, how talented is XC!!

The construction of the Bakery is well underway and nearly completed! The bakery will be a welcome addition to the children's home and an additional income stream to take us one step further to self sufficiency. I’m excited to see the progress on this project with all major appliances now being fitted. Ensure to follow us on Social Media for further progress reports.
Ukraine Appeal.

HPI is raising funds to support the people of Ukraine. We are all aware of the devastation that is happening in the country and how many people have been displaced. You can donate directly to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal website here  https://www.ukrainecrisisappeal.org/ or through the HPI website by putting 'Ukraine' in your donation notes. All donations will receive a tax deductible receipt.

Stephen Bird Photography Fundraiser.

Our incredibly talented committee member, Stephen Bird, has generously put together a fundraiser selling his photography prints. Each month, he will be releasing another image at a special price with profits going to HPI as a donation towards furnishing the school dormitory in Kashekuro, Uganda.

This month's featured image is of Ebor Falls in New South Wales.

It is one of the many waterfalls dotted along Waterfall Way, which is the stretch of road between Armidale and Coffs Harbour in NSW.

A new print will be uploaded at the beginning of each month on our socials and website so be sure to set a reminder, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone's taste.

Please help us spread the word of this fundraiser by sharing our social media and website posts on your local community page and to your friends & family. What a fantastic gift idea for Christmas!

Easy Ways To Support Us Today.

- Don't let your holiday empties go to waste! Save up your cans, bottles and glasses and return them to your nearest collection point. For QLD & WA that's Containers for Change Scheme ID C10053657 or NSW Return & Earn.

- Have an upcoming birthday? Hold a Birthday Fundraiser on facebook or simply ask your friends & family to make a
donation in your name on our website in lieu of gifts.

- Sponsor a boarder. For a one off donation of $360 you can sponsor a boarder for a whole school year.

- Hold a 'restrictions friendly' event. For some that will mean a gathering up to 20 in your home and others it means holding an online games night with mates who are in lockdown. Check out

That's all from me today. If you have any questions about anything in this newsletter please don't hesitate to contact me or any of the committee.
