Chuckanut Transition, building resilient community within the Samish Watershed, believes all hope lies in our ability to connect with place and with one another.  Essentially, by becoming indigenous to our watershed, we are creating lives that are more meaningful, healthy and joyful.
Please join us!  The Initiating Committee meets the first Monday of every month.  Email us at chuckanuttransition@gmail.com.

Community is my garden, and I harvest resiliency!

Alger Garden Swap and Sale is evolving!

Because of social contact restrictions we are evolving our annual event at the Hall, scheduled for May 3rd.

Instead of centralized event, we are initiating within the Samish Watershed, a community wide invite to put all garden related items for sale, swap or give away by the road the weekend of Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday the 3rd from 12 to 4 pm. If you are on the west side of the Interstate, put your plants, seed, garden tools, etc. out by the road on Saturday.  People on the east side of the interstate will put out their plants on Sunday the 3rd.

Please remember to keep to minimal social distancing guidelines. Consider placing a table with donation jar next to road and goods. Bring your hand sanitizer.

This is a great way to share starts, divided perennials, root stock, containers, tools, useful household items while diversifying your own stock. Bring your own boxes and bags to put dug up root balls into.

If you have questions you can email John Boetcher at thefarmersfriend26@gmail.com

If you don’t already belong to Alger Neighbor’s email list you can get on by emailing Ranger at ranger@rangerville.com or Sarai at chuckanuttransition@gmail.com. This is a good way to email the group directly, letting people know what you have, or what you are looking for.
