Recent Events
White Horse #1 | Well done to all of our clubbies who raced at the first Capital Coast White Horse carnival at Petone Beach. This competition included surf boat, ski, board and surf races and we had a great turn out of competitors. We currently sit in second place on the White Horse points tally - check out the results below.
Porirua Sports Awards | Titahi Bay SLSC had a lot to celebrate at the recent 2018 Porirua Sports Awards. The Titahi Bay SLSC Nationals Team took out the Porirua Sports Team of the Year award for the combined efforts of all surf boat, craft and masters competitors at the Surf Life Saving Championships in Gisborne last season.
Club members Bronagh Ryan and Brooklyn Saunders were also recognised for their stella efforts in their respective codes, Bronagh for swimming and Brooklyn for canoe racing. Congratulations to Bronagh, Porirua's Sportswoman of the Year and Brooklyn, Porirua's Young Sportswoman of the Year.
Surf Boat Working Bee | Thanks to everyone who turned up to the Surf Boat Working Bee. It was great to have so many hands on deck repairing, cleaning and building up the space and gear which is used by many during the season.
The Titahi Bay Tribe will be back in force this season! Tanks, Thundercats, Pterodactyls and Tigers, it's nearly time to go head to head against your family, crews and clubmates again. The team have been working on some new kit behind-the-scenes - we can't wait to reveal it to you!
Coming Up
Club Lifeguard Refresher, Patrol Briefing and BBQ | If you intend on competing and/or patrolling this season you MUST refresh your award. This consists of a tube rescue, run-swim-run and CPR. There will be limited chances to get this done this season so please try your best to attend, even just for a little while.
Saturday 17 November at 10:30am at the Titahi Bay Surf Club.
You can complete the theory test online - please get in touch with us if you require your sign in details for the Online Learning Portal.

In The Spotlight
This month we feature Steve Kent who has just touched down in Adelaide all set for the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships. He is flanked by a 12-strong Black Fins team which includes a swathe of experienced competitors.
Steve, also an Olympic swimmer, will be captaining the side and has already competed at six lifesaving world championships, and was Black Fins vice-captain at the 2014 and 2016 LWC competitions. Good luck to Steve and the team as they chase their 4th World Title!
