Nine lifeguards from Titahi Bay recently participated in the first Surf Lifeguard Development Weekend at Foxton Beach. Surf lifeguards also had the opportunity to upskill in inflatable rescue boats, undertake scenario training, and utilise Foxton SLSC’s award winning water surveillance camera.

Congratulations to Ben Strombom who was awarded Lifeguard of the Weekend and to all of the lifeguards who attended. Let Nick know if you would like to attend the next Development Weekend on the 11-12 February 2017.

New Zealand Surf Boat Series: Round 1 | The series kicked off this month with over 30 crews from around the country racing at Titahi Bay. While there was very little surf action for competitors and spectators alike, Titahi Bay did turn on some stunning weather and the long-course races were enjoyed by all. The next round of the series is at Whangamata on the 2nd January.
