Recent Events

Annual General Meeting - 2015/2016 Committee:
Last month Titahi Bay SLSC took out the Porirua City Council Sport and Leisure award at the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards! Congratulations to all the members who contributed to this great achievement!

Porirua City Aquatics took out the runners up spot which is awesome as many of our surf athletes train there!

Nick and Meagan attended the awards and accepted the award on behalf of the club (pictured above)

Patrol Support Award:

This year there is the opportunity for all club members who have not gained their Surf Lifeguard Award to gain a Patrol Support Award. This award involves the same training and theory as the Surf Lifeguard Award but does not require you to pass the physical water components. This enables those who cannot yet achieve the physical components, i.e. 400 m swim time, to still be involved in the delivery of surf lifesaving services.

The Patrol Support Award is great for members, parents of nippers and surf lifeguards, and any others who are not yet confident in the water. This award can be upgraded to a Surf Lifeguard Award at a later date if you pass the physical water components.

The training for this award will be run at the same time as the Surf Lifeguard Award training which has already kicked off. If you have any questions, or would like further information, please don't hesitate to contact Nick Mulcahy, Chief Instructor/Lifesaving Coordinator, 027 780 0096.
