Officially the most environmentally friendly laundry service in the UK, London Linen provides work wear and linen to some of the biggest names in the country’s hospitality industry. Runners-Up for two awards relating to environmental sustainability at last year's Footprints Awards, London Linen has recently created the new Eko Chef range of chef’s jacket. So called because each garment is produced using waste polyester fibre, combined with 25 recycled two litre plastic bottles! We are proud and delighted to welcome food distribution company Fresh Direct to the Think.Eat.Drink team! A family run business dating back to the 1960's, Fresh Direct provides a huge variety of fresh ingredients to the country’s finest eateries. Supplying everything from black truffles and white pudding, to purple carrots and candy beetroot, Fresh Direct runs a many fold service, on a scale so large it sees them take 35,000 orders per week. They continue, nonetheless, to retain the same ethos as they started out with, when the company consisted of just one man, one van and a whole lot of vegetables. Read More…

Uptown Biodiesel

Another new addition to the T.E.D family is Uptown Biodiesel Ltd. This company operates throughout the capital, offering a responsible Used Cooking Oil (UCO) removal service. The folks at Uptown then recycle this waste product, and turn it into biodiesel to be used as engine fuel. Their activity, as well as preventing the wastage of gallons of UCO, has saved 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions to date! Read More…

Green Shoots Design

Finally, we are thrilled to introduce T.E.D’s most recent addition, Green Shoots Design. A web design and development company based within the light and airy walls of fellow T.E.D member, The Hub, Kings Cross. These guys combine years worth of experience, and cutting edge knowledge of internet science, with their clean, bright style to create easy to navigate websites with a modern look. Fresh Direct: Ideas and Innovations
T.E.D’s newest founder member, Fresh Direct, has launched an innovative new eco-friendly delivery system. Switching cardboard boxes for biodegradable bags, they will simultaneously reduce their own, and their clients’ environmental impact, reduce the risk of damage to products during delivery, (the bags are transported in reusable plastic crates) and rid the client of the cumbersome and costly task of subsequent waste-cardboard disposal.

Electric Star Book Exchange

T.E.D member Electric Star is in the process of building up a library of books for their customers to browse over their pizzas and their pints. Keen to get as good a range as possible they are currently offering a free hot drink to anyone donating a book to their collection. If this weather keeps up we think they'll be giving The British Library a run for their money in no time!
