Greetings from David Palmer

David Palmer Picture

The Fall foliage is peaking this week in Connecticut and everyone assures me this is the most colorful it has been in years. But, oh, how transient. Soon the trees will be bare and we will be hunkering down for another Winter. But first...

I have a trip planned to Trinidad in early November to work with a new group of trainers that I met through the World Massage Festival. While I am there I will be teaching a three day Technique seminar, so if you want some fun in the sun, please join me at the last seminar I will be teaching in 2015. Click here for details.

Following my first island adventure I will travel to San Francisco on November 11th to film a segment for a new series on the History Channel that is due to air early next year. Called Eureka! it will profile five inventors (and their inventions) in each of ten episodes. I expect we will get about 5-8 minutes for the massage chair. If you don't know the story of the development of the first professional massage chair 30 years ago, you can read about it here. After my segment airs, I will send you a link for viewing.

While in San Francisco, on Sunday, November 15th, I am making also myself available for a group fine-tuning of TouchPro-trained practitioners . If you are interested, just shoot me an email.

Next year is shaping up to be full and exciting. In the meantime, below are a couple of recent articles you may have missed that appeared in an issue of MASSAGE Magazine earlier this year.

In touch,
David

Here are three ways you can take advantage of such opportunities—and possibly win new table massage clients because of it. More...

Touch Education in the Workplace

Touch EducationThe massage profession has been swimming upstream against a torrent of cultural and institutional touch phobia for decades. It is unquestionably the biggest marketing barrier faced by our industry and yet, curiously, we barely acknowledge its existence.

Fortunately, there has never been a better moment in history to tackle this marketing problem head on. The emergence of a robust technology for delivering safe touch to the marketplace, i.e. chair massage, has recently converged with a strong scientific foundation validating the importance of positive touch.
