Watch and Share All One Ocean's New Video
In November 2012, the attendees of the San Francisco Green Festival chose All One Ocean as the winner of the Ford Community Green Grant!  In addition to receiving a cash award, All One Ocean was featured in this video sponsored by The Ford Motor Company.

Thank you very much to those of you who voted for us and to the Ford Community Green Grant!  With partners like you, All One Ocean is able to further our critical work of caring for our beaches and waterways and preventing the needless death of marine life.

To help spread the word about All One Ocean, please forward this link along to your friends and family and share it on Facebook as well!

Reweaving the Web of Life:

Reflections from AOO Founder, Hallie Austen Iglehart

My philosophy towards cleaning up the world, which can seem so overwhelming, is to just try to pick up what's in my path...

One Saturday morning, my friend Lucia and I were enjoying a walk on Muir Beach, California, and something mysterious was in our path. We realized that it was the top of a wet suit deeply buried in the sand.  We started trying to dig the sand away but needed help.  I saw Celia, a little girl playing nearby, and asked her if she would like to help us.

There was still a lot of sand and I saw a little boy and asked him if he would also like to help us.   I was telling them about the animals we were saving and Sam said, "Oh yes, I know all about it.  They get all tangled up in this stuff." It took the four of us about twenty minutes to dig out this material.  It was fun working as a team and I was happy to be working/playing with this youngest generation!

How are you inspired to team up with others and make a difference? Let us know!

With gratitude to all,

Ocean Action

This Saturday,
June 8th is
World Ocean Day.

Plastic waste, wastewater pollution, and unsustainable fishing are three major threats to the health of the oceans today. Throughout the exhibit, â€œOcean Action” stations constructed out of manmade marine debris encourage visitors to pass on plastic, clean up the flow, and be seafood savvy. In addition, community-based initiatives offering tips for taking conservation action are highlighted. Visitors can also tweet their own ideas for creatively re-using plastic with the Twitter hashtag #ReimaginePlastic.
Find us on Facebook and let us know how you will celebrate your Mother Ocean.
I hope you will join us at Muir Beach on June 12th!

With Oceans of Gratitude,
Lauren Weiner, Director, and the Whole AOO 'Ohana
