Dear <<First Name>>,
Did you know June 8 was World Oceans Day? This important day has been celebrated around the globe since 1992. Don't worry if you missed out on the festivities... every day is World Oceans Day here at All One Ocean—and we sure know how to celebrate!

We had a splish-splashing good time at our Mermaid Festival on June 12 and have been having a blast working with teachers, parents and students as part of our brand new School Clean Up Station (SCUS) program. Read on to learn how you can bring the SCUS program to a school near you, see pictures of the mermaids in action and get a fiscal year-end update.
Mermaid Festival!
Our first ever Mermaid Festival went swimmingly! More than 100 finned, tailed and legged creatures attended the poolside bash at Mill Valley Community Center on June 12. The finned fun included a mermaid art show, auction, face painting, dream stories, Ocean Wisdom panel plus swimming with mermaids, mermen and merkids. To see the panel's rich images, inspiring words, art and videos, please go to our website AOO Mermaid Festival.
Waves of gratitude to Tracy Gary, who envisioned and organized the Mermaid Festival. In addition to Tracy, we had scores of fabulous volunteers. Flippers clapping with special gratitude for our panel members Mermaid Vyana aka Heather Reynolds, Hallie Iglehart, Sunita Dutt, Merman Michael Mitrani and Vicki Noble. Big thanks also go to Alicia Forester, Ben Rosenthal, Carol & Cecelia Camlin, Hallie Iglehart, Inka von Sternenfels, Kaya Mey, Lauren Weiner, Les & Maxine Hembree, Louis Wellmeier, Marcelina Martin, Mary Sackett, Maryon Maass, Max Radine, Maxine and Les Hembree, Merileigh Moen, Susanne Bersbach, Tammie Shimooka, Tracy Gary, Wendy Leherissy, Werner Schmidt, and all the other generous event volunteers.

School Clean Up Station Program Update
Our first School Clean Up Station was recently installed at Vallecito Elementary School in San Rafael, CA. Check out the kids' signage, adapted from AOO's Beach Clean Up Stations.
Beaches aren't the only ones in need of a little tender loving care. So are schools. Why? More than 80 percent of the Ocean's garbage starts on land, and many great schools are littered with a shocking amount of trash. That's why we launched our School Clean Up Station program. Spurred by requests by parents and educators in Marin and San Francisco counties, this exciting new program empowers schoolchildren to be socially and environmentally responsible. They love to take action to protect the sea creatures they love - all while having fun!

Through school assemblies and volunteer programs such as Community Heroes, we have educated more than 1,000 kindergarten through 5th grade students. We have taught students about the dangers of single-use plastics and how to make simple changes to reduce the amount of trash entering our Ocean. We have presented at four schools in Marin County, and students, faculty and parents have collected more than 1,000 pieces of trash during our school cleanups.
Students at Mary Silveira Elementary School use repurposed plastic newspaper bags as gloves while cleaning their school.
We hope to expand the program to many more schools around the Bay Area in the 2016-17 school year.

Fiscal Year Coming to a Close
This past year has been an exciting and productive year for us here at All One Ocean. We installed our first ever San Francisco Clean Up Station, added new permanent signage to six Stations, launched our School Clean Up Station program and picked up more than 300,000 pieces of trash!

Our School Clean Up Station program is getting off to a rip roaring start, and we still have many Stations to build, others to refurbish and cleanups and education sessions to host. We appreciate all of your support, and could really use more of it.

We are wrapping up our fiscal year on June 30th, and are $2,500 short of this year's goal. Can you please help us meet our goal by making a donation? We are only able to keep trash out of our waters with your support and every dollar counts. Please make a donation today!
Check out our first San Francisco Station at Heron's Head Park. Thanks to the EcoCenter and everyone who made this Station possible.
Thank you for your enduring dedication and support!
