"Dissolving"

Friday & Saturday, March 14 & 15 at 8 p.m.

Immigration, climate change, technology… no, it’s not a political debate: It’s a contemporary dance concert (video). Christopher K. Morgan & Artists tackle all of these issues through evocative, athletic movement and thought-provoking choreography. Featuring the world premiere of "Dissolving," with two percussionists, a new score composed for the work, and both dancers and musicians interacting with water onstage.

Insider Knowledge
"Climate Change and the Arts"

Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m.

From McCarthyism to the AIDS epidemic, the art world has created some of its greatest works in response to world events. In preparation for the premiere of a new contemporary dance work dealing with climate change, choreographer Christopher K. Morgan and composer Jonathan Kolm discuss their artistic reactions to climate change with Deputy Director of the Georgetown Climate Center Kathryn Zyla sharing information and thoughts on policy related to environmental issues.
 

Code 20: Proceed to Improv

Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m.

Always free and always the second Thursday of the month, Code 20 is an evening of improv comedy and coffeehouse-style entertainment. Held at the Old Firehouse Teen Center.

Celtic music straight from Ireland

Caladh Nua

Saturday, March 1 at 8 p.m.

The luck of the Irish is on your side when Caladh Nua (video) brings their contemporary Celtic music to The Alden stage on their first U.S. tour. Playing traditional instruments such as the bodhràn, tin whistle and button accordion as well as the fiddle, banjo and guitar, Caladh Nua will enchant you with their authentic sound.

Leland Faulkner's
"World of Wonder"

Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m.

Leland Faulkner conjures up a "World of Wonder" with spellbinding mime, paper art like flying origami, and hand shadows (video) way better than your grandpa’s. Both kids and adults will be amazed. Recommended for ages 5 and older.

Theatre Unspeakable in
"Superman 2050"

Saturday, March 22 at 8 p.m.

Do you need a hero? If so, we bring you "Superman 2050," the tale of the classic superhero told with a twist (video). Seven actors pile onto a 3x7-foot platform and tell the story of Lex Luthor vs. Superman using only their voices and bodies. Bare bones theatre at its most imaginative!
