Elska: "Middle of Nowhere"

Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 pm.

Travel to a world of imagination and whimsy (video) with Elska, described as "kindie's Björk." Hip (and hipster) parents will love this Parents' Choice Award-winner's enchanting (video) blend of theater, storytelling and musical performance as much as their kids will. Recommended for ages 3 and older.

Grand Dérangement

Grand Dérangement

Saturday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m.
Step dancing, pounding Acadian rhythms, rock-show lights... Grand Dérangement wants to get you riled up in the best way. Specializing in the music of their native Nova Scotia, you'll hear a mixture of Celtic, Cajun, folk and rock sung in French. Grand Dérangement will definitely heat up your winter!

The Alden's Technical Director, Jennifer Garrett, has great taste. This musical, starring legends Ben Vereen and Chita Rivera, features a very 70s score by "Wicked" composer Stephen Schwartz.

Traditional music guru Mary Cliff is your tour guide to the music of the Celtic Isles and its influence around the globe. Just in time for Grand Dérangement and Caladh Nua.


Code 20: Proceed to Improv

Always free and always the second Thursday of the month, Code 20 is an evening of improv comedy and coffeehouse-style entertainment.

Christopher K. Morgan returns to host this evening of new contemporary dance and sweet treats, which will include a preview of "Dissolving" before it premieres at The Alden in March.
