Over the last ten years, significant gains have been made in reducing the number of hungry people in the world. But still, one in nine people do not have enough to eat.
On World Food Day—October 16—we raise awareness of global hunger and take action to ensure nutritious food can be available for all. PWS&D works with Canadian Foodgrains Bank and our partners overseas to help farmers and their families in developing countries overcome hunger.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (Toronto, ON) will be hosting a special World Food Day event on October 16. More information will follow on our website as it becomes available.

Like most children, Shakira loves recess. Now that her school in Afghanistan has a playground, she is more excited than ever about school. Not only is Shakira more dedicated to her studies—exercise and recreation are improving her ability to learn! Read her story.
Walking for the First Time in Malawi
Due to medical complications, both Callista and Timothy are unable to walk and their families unable to afford mobility equipment. One memorable day at Tidzalerana Club in Malawi, they both received prosthetics and braces. Now they are walking tall for the first time—and it is the generous support of Presbyterians that helped make this possible. Read their heart-warming story.
