There is still time to get tickets!!

February 19, 2016

Lost Boyz is headed back to Kroll’s in the South Loop for our annual COSMOS for a Cause Happy Hour on Friday, February 19th. If you attended last year, you remember just how fun it was and how we filled the room. So SAVE THE DATE and join us again this year.

Winter Clinic

This year has seen a large growth in participant attendance. On average, 30 youth attend Winter Clinic each session. So far, participants have gained loads of athletic practice and tutoring. Recently, we brought on a Lead Tutor who is available to our participants for the full session during weekdays in case extra homework help is needed.
If you would like to sign your child up, please visit our website and complete the Registration Form.

Winter Clinic will run until February 22nd. Details coming soon on the spring portion of the MVP Program!

Successful Youth Leaders

A recent UIC study found that 47% of 20-24 year old black men are out of school and out of work. The figure for black teens is even more startling at 88%. Here at Lost Boyz, we are working to help reduce this number. Once participants age out of our MVP Program, we hope to move them into our Successful Youth Leaders Program (SYL), where they can work for our organization and gain valuable skills that will help their employment prospects. Participants can work as a Youth Coach Assistant, Equipment & Apparel Manager, Sports Journalist, or Youth Umpire.

Welcome to our new photographers

Welcome Polly of Polly C Photography. Having traveled the world with her photography skills, Polly decided that she wanted to offer talent to a local nonprofit right here in Chicago. We are certainly fortunate to have her on board and can’t wait to show you her work. Be sure to check out her website and photos!
Will Knight of Will Knight Photography is returning for a second year with our organization, offering his photography skills to help us capture practices, games, and other proud moments for our participants. Be sure to check out his photos on his website!

Vonte's Voice - Quardell's Story

Hi Friends,

So far 2016 is off to a confounding start. Most people choose only to see the good and say that the year is off to a fantastic start, but organizations like Lost Boyz have to look at things in it's entirety and say we are off to a mixed start. I guess where you live, work, and play determines what lens you look at society through; for the community of South Shore and others like it, that lens portrays a dismal picture of continued violence, poverty, unemployment, disinvestment, broken trust, families scrimping to get by, and politics doing more damage than help.
