Hi <<First Name>>
Hope you are well! I had a great birthday last weekend, celebrating with Nick in the lovely city of Bristol in England. We had gorgeous weather, enjoyed afternoon tea, drank local cider & beer in the harbour and climbed the 30 meter high rigging of a ship.
Oh yes! We were invited by the people of the SS Great Britain, a 700-years old ship that went across the earth for 32 times, to explore the deck, see where all the crew and passengers stayed during the crossing to Australia and learn all about the maker of the ship, engineer Brunel (with the famous hat that you can see me 'wear' below).
We then also did their 'Go Aloft' experience, where you get to climb the rigging! Totally scary, but the view from the top of the mast was incredible. All together, it was a fantastic museum that we highly recommend!
This week, I also visited the Isle of Wight in the South of England for the naming ceremony of a new hi-speed passenger ship called the 'Red Jet 7', to make the crossing between the city of Southampton and East Cowes on the Isle of Wight a breeze. The naming & blessing of the ship was done by no other than HRH Duchess of Cornwall, aka Camilla! You can find some pictures of the day on our other website "The London Tester" (www.thelondontester.com).
This weekend, we're having friends from The Netherlands over, so that will be fun! It's still incredibly hot here in London, they couldn't have picked better weather :)
I will talk to you again next week, have a wonderful rest of your weekend and let me know what you are up to! Nienke
