Issue #3

June, 2014
I was surprised to find my last issue of the OIABM newsletter was sent out well over a year ago. A YEAR AGO!? What the WHAA?? I knew it'd be once in a blue moon, but I didn't realize it'd be once in an OCCASIONAL blue moon. Needless to say, a few things happened in that time, not the least of which is this:

"Scrap City" Picked Up By Capstone!

HIP HOORAY! I'm happy to announce my middle-grade fantasy, SCRAP CITY, has been picked up by Capstone!
SCRAP CITY is the story of fifth-grader Jerome Barnes, who discovers Smithytowne, far beneath the local junkyard, where everything — even the people — are made of Topside's discards. When Smithytowne's threatened from Topside developers, it's up to Jerome and his buddies (one human, one mechanical) to come to the rescue.
Many thanks to my agent, Anna Olswanger of Liza Dawson Associates, who believed in the story and found it a good home. Yay, Anna! And yay, Capstone!! I've spoken to Michelle Bisson, acquisitions editor, and have started to work with my editor, Beth Brezenoff. They're excited about the book and I'm thrilled to be working with them. WOOT!
Look for it in your local bookstore Fall of 2015.

And Look! New artwork!

^Now only 3.6¢ a giggle.

Balancing act.

I'm an artist, but I'm also an author. Or maybe it's the other way around. Which to tout and when? Thanks for putting up with whichever side of me you didn't know about.
