My promise to you is that Shameless Singing will be about YOU.
Shameless Singing is a place where you can receive vital tools you need to succeed at being the artist or teacher you wish to become.
Shameless Singing Studio offers you private voice coaching, creative and artistic coaching, and singing teacher training and mentorship. Together we are about co-creating the life you want as an artist or teacher.
Shameless Singing, alone, can’t provide you with everything you need. That’s one of the reasons the Shameless Singing Studio treasures deeply its affiliation with Vocology In Practice – the teacher network for VocalizeU. Your Studio is connected to teachers, industry professionals, song-writers, producers, performers, managers, lawyers, and other specialists who can help you get the information, skills, and knowledge that you need.
Thank you for being a part of this vital and life-giving community.

Technical Tip That's Featured in About.com:
Singing More Powerfully & Smoothly

Read more in the About.com article I recently wrote.  It's some pretty tasty information that will help you master even more subtleties in your singing and style.
At our performance at Two Old Hippies as featured on the TV Show, Nashville
Nashville Songwriting Intensive was a BLAST!
Over 30 participants and 10 faculty and staff spent 72 highly intense hours on Music Row in the Music City, writing and performing their event-written songs. It all began on Thursday evening with a Nashville Porch Party that also included the first writing session with proven, established Nashville songwriting coaches. There were participants from Mexico, Australia, Canada, and the eastern, central and western parts of the U.S. We had pop writers, country writers, rock writers, and indy writers.

When it was all said and done, the participants had written and co-written at least 2 songs and performed most of them between three iconic Nashville songwriters’ venues.

There was the extra bonus of visits, instruction, and “life-lessons” by Marshall Altman and Marc Beeson, both hit songwriters and producers. Plus we had visits by Alex Wong (producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer/songwriter) and Anna Krantz (songwriter and vocalist).

Our participants wowed the venues with their event-written songs and we’ve been invited back to each one for future events. We’re already making plans!
Asheville AND Nashville in 2015!
Beginning Jan. 1, 2015 I will be teaching in Asheville, NC every other week on Mondays and Tuesdays I will spend the rest of my in-studio time in Nashville, TN.

Asheville folks, this means that you can take lessons the weeks I’m in Nashville via Skype or FaceTime. See my special offer for you at the top of this page! I teach many clients over Skype who don’t live in the place I currently happen to be (folks in Alaska, California, Nevada, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, Australia, Singapore, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Australia, Canada, and more). Be sure to sign up for your face-to-face lessons on Mondays and Tuesdays, twice a month, and then via Skype on the weeks I’m not in your town.

There will be some more very exciting announcements about what’s going on with the Nashville studio, but we’ll save that for next timeJ.

The newly revamped Be A Singing Teacher Course will be offered again, starting Jan. 12, 2014.
Congratulations to the new Be A Singing Teacher (BAST) course graduates,Joy Quilala, Ariana Zwozdesky Whitlow, and Erika Noot from
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Kimberly Kanitz from Las Vegas; Jimena
Arozza
from Uruguay; and Maryanne Krueger from Phoenix, AZ.

Some of the participants are seasoned teachers and some are newer to the field. But all enthusiastically took in the material, the practice teaching, the group support, and the FUN.

I’ll be offering the course again beginning on Jan. 12. The course will run over 10 weeks with 8 online videoconference sessions (2 weeks off). This course is not only for beginning teachers. Experienced teachers find it highly valuable to take the more difficult concepts of teaching even deeper and to find new meaning in their previously acquired knowledge. Newer teachers find that it gives them a giant head start in their teaching and much more confidence.

This is a highly interactive course, based upon vocal science, education science, and positive psychology. We’ll listen to videos of singers, have discussions, teach one-another, ask questions, and find answers together.
Subject topics:
  • Anatomy and physiology of the larynx and respiratory system
  • Teaching and learning styles, student centered goals and teaching methods Teaching tools – vowel and consonant sounds, scales, instruction, demonstration
  • Assessment – body and voice (spoken and sung)
