Urban Bee Supplies is joining the West Coast Seeds family and we couldn't ask for a better match! The world of bees & seeds is closely related, and we are all excited about taking part in this new adventure. West Coast Seeds supports Urban Bee in its commitment to helping pollinators, providing education and products that allow bees to thrive. We look forward to working with the Urban Bee team to help them achieve their goal of being the leading source of beekeeping supplies and education across Canada.

Urban Bee Supplies sells bees and beekeeping supplies online (www.urbanbeesupplies.ca) and out of their warehouse located in Ladner, BC. Their mission is to provide beekeeping supplies, support, education and expertise to beekeepers, and those interested in the greater understanding of the hive. They do it with the purpose of supporting the growth of healthy colonies across the country and raising the understanding of the honey bee as a whole. Urban Bee supports commercial and urban beekeepers to increase the biological diversity within our cities and farmlands.
Urban Bee's vision is to be the leading source of beekeeping supplies across Canada!

The Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) report there’s no one single cause of honey bee health issues, but suggest colony failures can be caused by a number of factors including: starvation, weak honey bee queens, pesticides, diseases and pests.

Pollinators like honey bees play a vital role in agricultural success in Canada—they are responsible for one in every three bites of food we eat and $2 billion of Canadian agriculture. Luckily, today there are over 8,500 beekeepers in Canada keeping more than 700,000 hives. We need to celebrate that honey bees are thriving, but also pay close attention to the issues they face to ensure they continue to thrive in the future.

Our group is passionate about pollination and are excited to be able to continue to do our part!
