2021 at Nautor's Swan

Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,
we are happy to share with you our monthly newsletter.

Nautor's Swan Delivery Season 2021

It has been another record-breaking year with 25 yachts launched. These included Swan 48, Swan 58, Swan 65, Swan 78 and Swan 98. Two refit projects, Swan 95 and Swan 112, as well as two new flagships Swan 120 and the ClubSwan 125.
The Swan 48 has already sold in almost 50 units. In fact, we delivered 14 of them this season, both sailing away from our home harbour but also transported both on land and as overseas deck cargo.
Our new Swan 58 is continuing in the flow of her smaller sister. We have delivered five of them already and have been able to sign orders for 20 boats.
The last in the series, our new Swan 55 appears to follow. Not yet shown in any places we have the first two of them in production with seven in total on order. The first units for delivery next summer.
Our flagship, the Swan 120 was delivered late this summer and shown at the Monaco Boat show with great success. This is a perfect example of what can be done to customize our maxi yachts to our customers desire.
Not to forget is the delivery of the most advanced yacht ever built by Nautor, the Club Swan 125. After an extensive testing period in the waters outside Jakobstad the yacht went to take part in the first race, the Fastnet race in UK with great success for a brand-new yacht and a “line honours win” in her class.

A prize for sailing culture to the City of Turku

The City of Turku, Finland, has received a prize for promoting and encouraging sailing sports and culture from Turku Yacht Club. The investment and commitment of the City of Turku has enabled four successful Swan Regattas starting with the Swan Anniversary Regatta in 2006 with 78 participating Swan yachts, celebrating Nautor’s 40th and Turku Yacht Club’s 100th anniversaries. In 2012 there were 56 Swans racing in the Archipelago Regatta. When Nautor celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2016, there were two major regattas, one in Turku and the other one in Porto Cervo. In both regattas there were more than 100 boats. Finally, last summer 2021 there was the first ever Swan European Regatta organised in the Baltic Sea area. Despite the Covid 19 pandemic, there were 43 yachts, including Swan 36 Tarantella I, the first Swan ever built.

Turku Yacht Club wishes to thank the City of Turku for its commitment and support to sail racing culture by offering a new rotating trophy donated by Samuli Salanterä who has acted as Commodore for the Turku Yacht Club for 18 years and is now resigning from his position.

A great adventure (part II) – crossing the Seven Seas aboard Swan 54 Nudi, an experience told by the crew

You have been traveling for many months. Could you tell us the place you loved most and why?
Hard question. Each place has different landscapes. What’s better between exceptional waterfalls in the tropical forests of the Commonwealth of Dominica or diving with penguins and hammerheads in Isabella (Galapagos)? The locals are friendly and helpful in every place and we’ve made friends in Dominica and Panama, some of which we have seen in different countries this year. We can’t just pick one place.

It seems incredible how fast 2021 has gone by.... 2021 for sure will be remembered as the year that we returned to cruising and racing. These times serve to look back, and from NSGS we can't be happier. 2021 has been full of new projects, new boats and above all a lot of hard work and great results. Global Service is growing and being closer to the yachts, owners, and crews.  Thanks to everybody who makes this possible, owners, partners, team... and wishing all of you and your families an enjoyable Christmas and fair winds for the upcoming 2022.

The NSGS Team

Mast unstep Valdettaro 112 - REE

Have you ever seen how a 112 footer is de-rigged?
NSGS boatyards are not all about Swans. Good proof of this is our great friend Ree who trusts us for more than 5 years. This year it was their turn to unstep the mast and make a service of the rig and this is the result. A perfect operation for our rigging team.

Swan 58-006 commissioning

Another boat is successfully commissioned and delivered by NSGS team in Badalona. The team worked hard to finish all the works on time and this means that there is another happy owner sailing around with this fantastic boat. Always a pleasure to share this special time with a new Swan Owner.
See you soon, OM II!

Refit Overview - Sloop 78 Ladisea

Ladisea was one of the big projects of last winter season and we are really proud of the result.
After being struck by lightning in the Caribbean in 2019, the boat finally arrived at the boatyard after more than a year battling with the insurer. The boat was in pretty bad shape, with many paint defects on hull and deck, water leaks, flooded bilges and burnt electrical and electronic wiring.
Do you want to see the result? Don't miss this refit overview HERE.
