Beth Thanks You
Your donations help fund an after school program for youth in Cowichan. This is a safe space for youth to go for free training courses and learn new skills such as resume writing.
"I've been attending the youth drop-in after school program for three years. My favourite activities are the workshops and the cooking class, where we get to eat what we make! I like this program because it gets kids off the streets and out of trouble. It's a fun place to hang out and everything is free. My favourite events are the field trips, especially the trip to Playland in Vancouver, where we got to go on rides all day. We spent months fundraising by doing bottle drives, car washes and other fundraisers to attend the Playland trip. If it wasn't for this program, I wouldn't get to do something like that. My mom always says we need to pay our bills first but there is never extra money to do fun stuff. I also took my Food Safe course so I will have a better chance at getting a job." - Beth, age 15.

CFMETR - Proud United Way Supporters
The Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental & Test Ranges (CFMETR) was very active in the 2015 Government of Canada Workpace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC). With Lieutenant Richard Crowder as campaign coordinator, the base held several fundraising events and had UW staff, along with funded Community Partners, out to visit to discuss the impact of the GCWCC. Commander Darren Rich earned CFMETR the Outstanding Campaign Leadership Award for 2015.
Your Donation Making an Impact
Your generous donation, whether it's $20 or $200, makes an impact on someone's life in our community. In 2015, 1,466 parents and caregivers received parenting support skills and training on how to improve their parenting skills. They also participated in activities with other parents and were encouraged to share stories, issues and outcomes. For more information on the lives you impact, visit our website.
