Empowering children and teens to embrace and express their inherent divinity.

Director's Note

How do we cope with the things we can't understand?  It's not just a problem for our children; it's something that can be daunting to the most experienced or well-adjusted adults.  When we're faced with the hardest, saddest, most fearful moments of life -- illness, death, cruelty, hopelessness, rejection, failure -- the key to being able to stay standing, or getting back up after you've been knocked down, or moving forward in grace is knowing that God is ... here and now, with you.  When the challenge seems too big; when the day's news stories feel too overwhelming; when nothing seems to make sense -- be still and know.  Know that God is in the midst of even the most unfathomable situation.  And then give it over.  Don't give up ... just give it over.  Give over the pain, the fear, the grief, and all the other life-stopping emotions to the God of your being.  The light of God is bright enough to dispel the deepest darkness and to make a way forward where there is seemingly no way.

Looking for Summer Cool Specialists:  During the summer months, we offer a different cool, interactive class each week for our K-8th grade students.  Will it be Art?  Yoga? Puppetry?  Music?  Dance?  Cooking?  Acting?  Crafts?  Gardening?  It all depends on our Summer Cool Specialists!  What engaging hobby or activity can you share with our Soul School one Sunday this summer?  Do you know someone with an activity they could share?  Contact Kate or look for the sign up sheet in the Atrium.

This Week's Angel Affirmation:  "Only a God greater than our understanding is big enough to entrust with all we cannot understand."
