Dear readers,

How can sport support women and be more accessible to them?

A new framework released by the International Olympic Committee removes some discriminatory policies that prevented trans and intersex women from participating in elite sport, a step in the right direction. The framework was released at the beginning of Trans Awareness Week, which we celebrated by highlighting six trans athletes that have paved the way.

The 20 articles that we have received for our call on supporting displaced women and girls through sport detail the work being done to ensure that the right to sport is exercised by all. We also highlight an article on how an organisation in Hong Kong has recognised and responded to women’s particular needs.

Finally, to mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence global campaign, we highlight a podcast series on how sport can be used as a tool to combat violence against women.

Happy reading,
