Newsletter August I

Dear readers,
On the occasion of International Youth Day, we are launching the next phase of our partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Sport has the potential to play a huge role in the lives of displaced young people, and we would love to hear from you on how sport can help tackle the impact of displacement.

The United States recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. To mark the occasion, the US Department of State concluded a six-part series on sportanddev and the University of Tennessee launched a campaign and video

On 8 August, Safer Sport Day took place. The theme for this year was to ‘Take the Pledge,’ encouraging organisations to commit to making sport safer for children everywhere. If you haven’t done so already, we would encourage you to find out more about the International Safeguards for Children in Sport and take the pledge to embed safeguarding in your work.

Be sure to also check out the other news articles and commentaries in this newsletter, which focus on a range of topics to suit different interests.

Enjoy your reading,
