Dear Readers,

Welcome to the 185th edition of the newsletter. Our series on CSR continues this week with an article on what the football community are doing in social responsibility. Clubs, associations and governing bodies are designing programmes to use the popularity of the sport to engage a wide audience. Basketball is a versatile sport that is used by many associations and organisations to teach life skills and to promote peacebuilding. To learn more, visit our featured sport section.

This week’s newsletter also includes a thoughtful piece by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation on the role of funders and an article on the evolution of sport and development in French-speaking African countries.

IDSDP is just around the corner and we are dedicated to providing you with the tools and information you need to put your plans into action. Visit our IDSDP 2017 page for more information and remember to share with us what you plan on doing 6 April.

In closing, our annual survey is now live. Your feedback and comments about the community and our work are important. Please take a few moments to tell us what you think about the website and its content.

Enjoy your reading,
