We're Safer at Home, Los Angeles
It's true: we're all Safer at Home. But that doesn't mean we can't help our communities at this time. If you're looking for ways to make a difference, from a distance, this newsletter is for you.
FIVE WAYS TO TAKE ACTION
1
VOLUNTEER: For those in good health and under age 65, volunteering is a Safer-at-Home-approved activity. Some ideas for serving your community at this time: donate blood, volunteer at an LAUSD food distribution center, check-in with your neighbors, or connect with your local meal delivery program
2
APPLY FOR FUNDS: You have until this Friday, April 3 at 5 PM to submit your application to this year's My LA2050 Grants Challenge. We're looking for your ideas to make LA the best place to live, learn, play, create, and connect. We'll be hosting a special office hour today at 3 PM (PT) via Zoom to answer questions. Click here to register for today's webinar.
3
BE COUNTED: Tomorrow, April 1, is Census Day! Taking just a few minutes to complete your Census form online is an easy way to help our region get the funding we need to thrive. Want to get more involved? Sign up now to be a Census volunteer with the LA Mayor's Office and spread the word from home through phone-banking.
4
SHARE RESOURCES: Do your part to spread the word about the assistance available in LA County during this public health crisis. Click here for our directory of local resources, services, and opportunities to help. We'll be updating our lists as we gather more information. Know of additional resources? Use this form to share.
5
SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES: During this time, join us in supporting small businesses while connecting with co-workers, friends, and family. Just make time to have a virtual lunch with your team (however you define it!) and order local. Post on social media using #TeamLunchChallenge and encourage others to join in! Get more details here.
THANK YOU, MY LA2050 PARTNERS!
