What's happening at The Peculiar Palette

Welcome to my first ever newsletter!

Can you believe we are half way through 2015 already? Although the year has been flying by, it certainly has been an exciting one. I am so thankful for all the amazing opportunities that have come my way and am so grateful to everyone who has taken a class with me, watched my webinars and/or has given my art a new home. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I can't believe how lucky I am to be able to make a living doing what I love. It really has been an incredible journey and I can't wait to see what the future will bring.

In addition to thanking you for your support, I wanted to let you know about all the cool stuff that I have scheduled:

Join me for my next live webinar with iFiredArts on June 10th! Here's the description of what I'll be doing...

Feeling stressed? Join Laura Fraedrich for another Zen project, The Gentle Giant, and paint your worries away. She'll show you how to use Mayco Stroke and Coats along with a variety of decorating tools including stamps, StencilGirl stencils, sponges and a paper mask to make an elephant platter that even Buddha himself would love to have. She'll also talk about the different types and brands of fun decorating tools and where you can find them to use in your own creations. See you there!

You may remember my 52 Weeks of Art Plates project I did in 2013...well I am so excited to announce that all 52 plates will be exhibited at The Brush and Easel Gallery in Fresno from June 25th until July 7th. If you find yourself in the Fresno area during this time, stop by and see the show! There will be an opening reception on June 25th from 5-7 pm. Here's a description of the show:

Local ceramic artist, Laura Fraedrich, challenged herself to create one plate each week in 2013. Every plate was designed around what was happening in her life at the time, and the project became an art journal painted with glazes on earthenware clay instead of in a traditional paper book. Every time a plate was created, Laura explained its meaning on her blog, The Peculiar Palette. For the first time ever, all of the plates from the 52 Weeks of Art Plates project will be on display at The Brush and Easel Gallery. Join us for the opening reception and take a look at a year's worth of stories told through a collection of ceramic plates.

If you can't make it to the show, check out the
52 Weeks of Art Plates project on Facebook.

I am thrilled to have been asked by the ladies at StencilGirl to use their fabulous stencils on my ceramics projects and write a guest blog post for them! Come on over and check it out!

One of my favorite things about my job is getting out and meeting you at classes and events. Here are some classes I have scheduled for the summer and fall. Hope to see you at one of them! Click on the links for more information and to register.
