Snow Removal Responsibilities
Snow removal responsibilities are as follows:

Sidewalks adjacent to homes - Homeowner
As a resident, it is your responsibility to remove snow from sidewalks adjacent to your property, including sidewalks that may be outside rear and side fences. Snow and ice must be removed within 24 hours after a snowfall ends (or 48 hours in the event a snow emergency is declared by the City of Aurora).

For concerns about a neighbor's sidewalk regularly not being shoveled, contact Access Aurora using their online form or by calling (303) 739-7000. Snow Busters is a volunteer program operated by the city of Aurora to assist low-income seniors and residents with disabilities with snow removal.

Streets - City of Aurora
The City of Aurora plows the major arterial streets, minor arterials, and neighborhood through streets in order of priority and according to its Snow Plan. View the map of street classifications (Inspiration is in the South 7 map). Local streets are generally not plowed except after the most extreme storms.
If you have a medical condition and need special access during or after a snow storm, call the police non-emergency line at (303) 627-3100. They will coordinate with Public Works to make sure your residence is accessible.

North-facing and shady areas on streets sometimes need attention. To report a section of street that remains ice-packed or impassable after several days, contact the Streets division using the Access Aurora online form or call (303) 326-8200.

Sidewalks along common areas and mailbox areas - District or Developer
The snow removal process is triggered after 2” of accumulation has been reached, as measured at multiple locations within the District. The threshold for snow removal around the mailbox kiosks is 1". For this reason, if we measure an accumulation over 1" but less than 2", you may notice only the mailbox kiosk areas and surrounding sidewalk access is cleared, but the rest of the sidewalk is not cleared.

The snow removal process sometimes does not begin right away if District management staff determines that a subsequent mobilization cost can be avoided with a slightly delayed start. During snow events, we are in frequent contact with our snow removal vendor, Brightview. We check the weather forecast and actual snow totals as measured within the District to determine the best timing for removal – keeping budget in mind to avoid rework and added expense.

Common areas that have not yet been turned over to the District are the responsibility of Brookfield / Newland, the community’s developer. The developer uses the same snow removal contractor and the same snow trigger depths.

Sidewalks of under-construction homes - Builder
Homes that are not yet occupied are the responsibility of the builder to clear the adjacent sidewalks. Please note that construction areas without occupied homes may not have any snow removal and are not generally open to the public.
Hilltop Club area - Hilltop Club Association
Sidewalks at the Hilltop Club and the Hilltop Club parking lot are cleared by the Hilltop Club Association.

This information may also be found on our website at For updates during a snow event, check the main page of our website.
Happy Tails Dog Park Not Yet Open
The new dog park is substantially completed but is not yet open. Punch list items are being completed, including fence staining, gate adjustments, and other items, and the developer must convey ownership and maintenance responsibility to the District before the dog park can be opened for use.

As soon as the dog park is open, we will send an update with a keypad access code. The gate code should not be shared with non-residents to avoid the need for frequent code changes.
New Stone Tabletops at Inspiration Club and Hops Garden
Two stone tabletops have been installed at Inspiration Club (rectangular) and the Hops Garden (round) to re-purpose what used to be fire pits. The gas service was turned off permanently to both fire pits to eliminate fire danger after several incidents of these features being used late at night and/or vandalized.

The stone tables can be used for an outdoor meal, drinks, or game play. The rectangular table has two chess boards etched onto the surface to invite a games of chess or checkers.
Play Structure Replacement Project Status

The final touches are being done on the new playground installation at Pathfinder Park. Once the ground cover chips are in place and the structure has its safety certification (slated for Friday), the new playground will be ready for use.

Santa is Coming to Town - Saturday, Dec. 3rd 2:00- 4:00PM

Santa is coming to Inspiration on December 3rd. He'll start at the Inspiration Club parking lot at 2:00 PM for a photo opportunity before riding around a portion of the neighborhood with Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage. The map of the route will be published next week. While you wait, you can write a letter to Santa or print this versionWe'll have complimentary hot beverages (coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider) from The Dessert Stand and sweet treats will be available for purchase.

We're looking for four volunteers to help with a kids' activity (during the event) or general event help (before or after the event). Please email us if you can volunteer to help.

Several residents are organizing caroling around the neighborhood on December 11th. Like last year, you don't have to be a singer to participate, all you need is a desire to spread cheer!  For more information or to join in, please email the resident organizer.
