Let your voice be heard! Join our campaign for the General Election 2016 by emailing your local candidates to ensure one-parent families are on their agenda. Based on our Manifesto for the General Election 2016 we have identified six key areas that need to be addressed by the next government.

1 Work to end child poverty in Ireland.
2 Ensure that work pays for everyone.
3 Undertake a full review of the One Parent Family Payment (OFP) reforms and their impact on employment and poverty rates.
4 Support and recognise the value and importance of shared parenting.
5 Recognise and protect all families in the Constitution, not just married families. Repeal Article 41.
6 Invest in our Family Law Courts and services.

It’s really easy to do . Just click here to fill out the form to email to your candidates.

Changes to social welfare

There were a number of changes for some social welfare payments this January such as an increase in the rate of Fuel Allowance, an increase in the threshold of net income for Family Income Supplement as well as news that the €90 earnings disregard that applies to One-Parent Family Payment will also apply to those on Jobseeker’s Allowance Transition from this January.

We have written a guide for these changes and you can view it here.
