Christmas Message

Karen KiernanAs Christmas time approaches and a New Year is nearly upon us we at One Family would like to thank you all for your support this year. It's been a busy year for us as we continue to offer services to those parenting alone and sharing parenting.

We ask for your continued support as we move into 2016 which will be a year of opportunity for change as we look towards the General Election and also a time for reflection as we celebrate the 1916 centenary that shaped our nation.

I hope you all have a peaceful Christmas and look forward to an exciting and challenging 2016.

One Family released its General Election 2016 Manifesto and calls on parties and candidates for the next election to prioritise family equality in Ireland. We set out a clear six point plan to tackle child poverty, to ensure that work pays, review of one parent family payment reforms, shared parenting, family law courts and the Constitution.

We need your help!

Follow our easy steps on how you can get involved.

One Family Strategy

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the surveys on our Strategy for 2016-2018. We got some great feedback about our services, policy work, values and our staff team. Nearly 150 parents answered the survey and they asked us to do more outreach work around Ireland, to improve our building and to offer more services around family law.

In general, parents were very pleased with our friendliness, professionalism and the staff and volunteer team working here. The 70 service providers who responded to the survey were eager to work more closely with us to offer quality services to families and they would also like us to have more regional services outside Dublin. We are very grateful for the time everyone took to respond to the various surveys and we will be incorporating feedback as we work to finalise the strategy in the coming months.

A big thank you to the companies who took part in our Toy Appeal this year:
A&L Goodbody
Capita Life Pensions
Chartered Accountants
HRM Recruit
Maples & Calder
Trinity Access Programmes

We will be handing out these presents at our annual winter party for the families we work with.
