Our Goal of Life programme in Savda-Ghevra J.J. Resettlement Colony is flourishing, with sessions happening every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We are gearing up for the start of the Delhi Youth League in September, as well as the start of our new batches and Goal of Life toolkit.
Our new Indradhanush batches began on 19 July, in Khan Market and Nizamuddin. We registered over 80 young people for our English and Hindi classes. Each batch lasts for 8 months, and relies on a Kutumb-developed toolkit; all sessions are taught by peer leaders-student graduates of Kutumb's language programme, Indradhanush.
This year the demand for admissions outpaced our capacities! We hope to be able to expand the programme in the coming years with the support of organisations and individual donors.
This month, 19 young people graduated from our inaugural batch of Indradhanush-Nizamuddin's Basic English class. We held a ceremony and a small party to celebrate their achievement. It was also a proud moment for our Nizamuddin English peer teacher, Sangeeta. She has been a role model for everyone at Kutumb, especially our peer teachers in Khan Market. We look forward to another year of classes in Nizamuddin, this year featuring an Intermediate batch as well!
Kapil holds ISS, our regular democratic discussion group where everyone can offer his or her opinion, at Indradhanush.
