Kutumb is participating in the OLX Delhi Youth League for the third year. As the first NGO to participate in the league, we are happy to see so many great sports development organisations participating this year! We have teams in the Under-9, Under-11 and Under-13 categories. Our teams are comprised of players from Savda-Ghevra, Khan Market and Nizamuddin, with boys and girls playing together. Goal of Life sessions happen twice a week with an extra league day thrown in each week. All sessions and teams are led by our peer coaches, trained to deliver our sports development curriculum.
Congratulations to the 33 Kutumb students graduating from the Basic Computer Course at our Ghevra Extension Learning Centre! We will soon be adding additional courses at the Ghevra centre, as well as our other locations.
Our Indradhanush English and Hindi classes continue. Sessions feature an innovative mix of group discussions, individual research, presentations and role-playing with a focus on experiential learning. Recent sessions have included an in-depth look at the work of some Indian painters, including Amrita Sher-Gil and Abanindranath Tagore as well as discussions on the writing of Ruskin Bond and Munshi Premchand. Our students also participated in a workshop organised by Mittika entitled 'Men and Boys for Gender and Social Justice'.
Foundation and Basic English classes continue to be held at our Nizamuddin Resource Centre in Sunder Nursery basti. We currently have over thirty young children, ages 4-10, participating in these daily classes.
