Dear Friends,

Lent begins this week with Ash Wednesday. In order to help you to observe Lent this year, we are teaming up with the Discalced Carmelite Friars of Austria and Paris to bring you a Lenten Retreat centered on the Carmelite saints and the theme of Divine Mercy.

All throughout Lent, we are offering a discount on select books that contain the writings and themes contained in this retreat. Of course, no books are necessary to participate, but the book selections offer a rich opportunity for further reading of the themes being covered during the retreat.

The retreat reflections will be delivered every week via email if you sign up here.
There will also be videos accompanying the reflections each week available for viewing on our YouTube channel.

Finally, we continue to ask for your prayers for the people of Ukraine, including the Discalced Carmelite Friars and Nuns of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Berdichev. Currently, the nuns of Kyiv have evacuated to Poland, and the nuns of Kharkiv, an eastern city under heavy attack, have evacuated to Slovakia.

Our Polish brothers, whom serve in the Ukrainian monasteries, have reached out with a way to financially assist the humanitarian effort there. Specifically, the friars in Berdichev have been assisting people trying to evacuate to Poland. Payments in USD can be made through Santander Bank Polska SA to "KLASZTOR KARMELITÓW BOSYCH W BERDYCZOWIE" (IBAN: PL27150016341216300453690000; SWIFT code: WBKPPLPP). More information, including the transfer of other currencies, can be found in Italian on the webpage of the OCD Generalate.

Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. We thank you for any assistance, spiritual or financial, that you can give to the people of Ukraine.

Thanks and God bless,
