Hello from Perpich!

A big thanks to everyone who has contacted us about what they've been up to! Perpich alumni have been making big waves around town and beyond, so check out all that your former classmates have been doing below. Help spread the word about Crosswinds
To further the agency's mission of teaching in and through the arts, Perpich was recently granted a managerial contract for Crosswinds Arts & Science school in Woodbury. We are asking those in the Perpich community to help get the word out about Crosswinds, and all that it has to offer students in grades 6-10, by sharing a Crosswinds newsletter with their social media networks and email. To learn more about Crosswinds and to share the campaign, click here.

Alumni Updates

Alumnus' dragon featured on Rachel Maddow
Alumnus Ryan Doyle's fire-breathing dragon was featured on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" as the "best new thing" for its protest to save Detroit's art collection. The 60 ft. dragon rolled down the streets of the city before stopping in front of the Detroit Institute of Arts to light up a sign that read "#savetheART". To see why Detroit's art needs saving, check out the video here.

American Songline tour a success!
Cece at the restored Hayesville Opera House in Hayesville, OH
An update from alumna Cecelia (Cece) Otto:
The cross-country journey is complete! Cece finished her historic American Songline tour on Labor Day weekend in San Francisco, California. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway (America’s first transcontinental route), she performed 30 concerts of vintage music in 14 states along the route to hundreds of people along the way (3,300 miles in total). “As with any project, there were literal and metaphorical bumps in the road over the last six months, but this tour was truly an amazing success,” she says. “I can’t wait to take this program to other places in the United States.”

Now that the project is complete, Cece plans to share her travels with everyone in two forms of media. She will write a book chronicling her travels and performances, and compose a new album of music about the Lincoln Highway to accompany the book. You can read about her travels, see or book Cece for 2014 tour dates, and pre-order the book/album on her website: americansongline.net

Alumni return to Perpich
Perpich students got an inside look at museum work from Robin Cotton.
