Hi again!

Earlier this month we hosted our first public event, engaging with people passionate about SHARED GREEN DEAL online. Participants shared and discussed different social perspectives and ways for us to accelerate action on our various Green Deal streams.

The most exciting thing? - It was only a warm up to us (and hopefully many of you) meeting together in Brussels on 4 October for the Green Deal Arena which, unfortunately, has reached full capacity.

Besides great events events we are also busy planning the opening of our call for experiments, which is planned to launch in November just as we continue to share videos introducing our partners.

1. Transition Arena introductory webinar. What have we learnt?

The Transition Arena introduction workshop was about the X-curve and how build-up and breakdown go hand in hand in sustainability transitions. With roughly 100 participants in this engaging workshop, the outcome has been summarised by our lead partner on the Activity in six short videos:

The introductory webinar was only the starting point of our Transition Arena event in which participants will discuss the lessons learnt and go further to create strong pathways for contributing to the Green Deal priorities.

To achieve it, diverse key actors from policyworkers, scientifics and practitioners will work together on exchanging knowledge on transitions thinking and apply it to varying contexts.

3. Coming soon: SHARED Green Deal social experiments (November 2022)

SHARED GREEN DEAL partners are preparing a call for social experiments under 6 streams: Clean Energy, Circular Economy, Efficient Renovations, Sustainable Mobility, Sustainable Food, Preserving Biodiversity.

The call is targeted to local authorities and civil society organisations with a clear ambition and motivation in the call field(s). Applicants will need to commit to implement the social experiment activities for one year, starting with May-June 2023, and do the adequate reporting and monitoring. Each applicant will be awarded a maximum of EUR 22 000. In total 24 applicants will be selected.

This call is planned for launch in late-november and will be announced through this newsletter too. Stay tuned!

4. Bonus: Catch up with the partners: ALDA and Aalborg University

In SHARED GREEN DEAL, Valeria and ALDA will focus on the creation of a new network to be established with actors committed to an inclusive and people-centred Green Deal.

You can also hear from Kirsten and Aggeliki from Aalborg University Copenhagen on the importance of integrating gender into the Green Deal.
