Positive Energy 398 - Better Boobs

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels that drain lymph fluid from the tissues to the blood. The lymphatic system helps keep the body healthy by ridding it of toxins and cellular debris. A clogged or poorly functioning lymph system can increase your risk of cancer and other disease.

Ages ago, I remember seeing and buying a small plastic sign that was made to hang around the shower head and remind women on how to do a breast self exam. Eventually I took down the sign and decided breast massage sounded like a better idea than breast exam.

An exam and massage both accomplish the goal of allowing you to become more familiar with your breasts but the focus is entirely different.  One objective is searching out signs of disease, the latter is self-care and health promoting. I use a blend of oils that smell divine while nurturing my body. Breast massage is a great way to stimulate lymphatic circulation and boost immune function.

2 ounces of coconut oil
10 drops of frankincense oil
1 dropper full of pine pollen extract

Gently warm coconut oil.  When coconut oil is liquid, remove from double boiler or hot water bath and add frankincense oil and pine pollen extract.  Place in a clean, glass container with a lid and put in refrigerator until the oil is completely solid. Use this aromatic oil to massage your breasts after showering. I've listed a breast massage tutorial from below.

We associate breast cancer with women but men in the U.S. also have a 1 in 1,000 chance of contracting breast cancer during their lifetime.  I have a close friend whose husband died from breast cancer.  Prevention and healthy habits can benefit both men and women.

Other simple habits that encourage healthy breast and lymph circulation are:

regular walking
Allowing some "bra-free" time (walking + "bra-free" time is even better as long as it is comfortable for your breast size)
dry skin brushing
proper hydration

Remember, there are many options well beyond wearing a pink ribbon in the attainment of healthy bodies and breasts. Lead by example and help the next generation enjoy better health from head to toe.
