WAEE Annual Conference - Making EE Relevant at Home, Work, School & Play

August 7-9, 2013 - UW-La Crosse & EcoPark

Join us for this professional development opportunity in August.  There are many opportunities to network, learn new techniques and share your experiences.  

We have lined up great keynote speakers.  Jordan Howard is head lining the Conference and Jerry Apps and Mary Hallar will be featured lunch speakers.  To find out more about our speakers visit the Keynote webpage.  Educators from throughout Wisconsin have submitted amazing presentations and we are excited to showcase all of the great things happening in Wisconsin.  Check out the Program webpage for all of the details.

WAEE is looking for a new Administrator

Join WAEE and support Environmental Education in Wisconsin.  The Administrator is the main contact for WAEE members and supports the Board in their work to move EE in Wisconsin forward.  Visit the job announcement on for all the information.

Updates from the WAEE Board

Summer is in full swing at the WAEE. We are gearing up for co-hosting the Educator Tent at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association's Energy & Sustainable Living Fair coming up June 21-23rd.  Don’t miss WAEE’s Networking Session on Saturday at 4 pm in the Educator Tent. We will be giving away a free registration to this year’s annual conference. You don’t want to miss your chance to win!
We are going through a change of administrators at WAEE.  Jodi Hermsen will be transferring out of her role as WAEE’s administrator in July.  We are hoping to have a new person on board the start of July so please spread the word. Review of applications will begin on June 24th. Details can be found on the Jobs listing in . Please help us spread the word so we have a good pool of applicants.
On another front, WAEE submitted an EE Capacity Grant to the North American Association for Environmental Education. If funded, the grant will support a statewide EE survey, help build leadership for EE in the state, and help WAEE be more inclusive to diverse audiences. We will keep you posted.

GreenWorks! Grant Program

Deadline: September 30, 2013
The Project Learning Tree GreenWorks! grant program provides funding for service-learning projects led by students, such as school/community native plant gardens, forest improvement projects, streamside restoration plans, recycling programs, and energy conservation projects. Grants are available in two award levels: the traditional GreenWorks! grants up to $1,000 and GreenWorks! grants up to $3,000 for registered PLT GreenSchools! Applicants must have attended a PLT workshop, have a project that involves service learning, have at least one community partner, and must secure a 50 percent match (in-kind or cash). Applicants for the Registered PLT GreenSchools! grants must register on the PLT GreenSchools! website, have an established Green Team, have completed one or more of the PLT GreenSchools! Investigations, and have a project based on the findings of one or more of the PLT GreenSchools! Investigations.
