Upcoming Opportunities

Spring Education Internship at the MacKenzie Center
Join a fun team and help inspire the next generation to get outside and learn about the natural world.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ MacKenzie Center is currently hiring an Education Intern for the spring semester (Feb-May).  Please share this position description with your networks. We will begin reviewing applications on November 23 for the Spring 2016 Internship. We encourage interested candidates to apply by submitting a resume and cover letter to DNRMacKenzieCenter@wisconsin.gov.

Mid November and outside my window tonight the wind in howling and snow is blowing by horizontally.  These gray, cold, dark days make me reflective, as we move into the holiday season and Thanksgiving next week.  I cannot help but think about the past three years and the personal events that have taken place and my time on the WAEE Board.

It is with great pride and pleasure that I have had to work on the board and immerse myself in environmental education and the amazing people who are connected to EE throughout the state.  As the Awards Banquet wrapped up an amazing conference last month, everyone connected to EE should feel that pride as well.  But our work is never done, and we want you to be a bigger part of EE.

Next month WAEE will be holding our annual elections to the board, and we encourage you to participate (and vote).  However, there are many other ways you can help.  Volunteers on various committees lessen the load for the the board, allow members to focus their talents on a specific task to be accomplished, and increases membership involvement in your organization.

As we move towards the end of the year and 2016, take some time to becomemore involved!
