To mark Climate Week 2013, there is a Sustainability Spring Fair, 10am-4pm on Saturday 9th March at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The fair is an entertaining, creative, educational and fun “green” day out for all the family.

Two FREE Big Dig Events

Big Dig Seed Event   Saturday 16 March Martineau Gardens, 1pm – 4pm

Grow something new this year! Brush off the cobwebs on your seedbox or if you’re new to gardening come and talk to experts to get help and advice. There will be a seed swap – bring seeds to swap and see sowing workshops. Children can make wild flowers ‘seed bombs’. More details from

Big Dig Sunday 17 March Cotteridge Park, from 11am


Food Forest Brum has kindly donated some fruiting trees and bushes to Cotteridge Park and volunteers are needed to get them planted.  No experience necessary (but please bring a spade/fork if you have them) just wear sensible clothes and footwear.  Jobs to suit all ages and enthusiasms.  Meet in the Orchard.

First Tuesday of the month 4-8pm, for tasty food stalls and local traders. If you haven't been before, you are in for a pleasant surprise.
