Chris Coltrane: An Hour Of Tory-Smashing Comedy
What a treat to have Chris join us. I am genuinely excited to see one of the sharpest political comics working toady. Only the lazy say that satire is dead! What with his stand up, his regular Lolitics gig & podcast (with some of THE best contributors about today) his essential News Explainer, The News for Idiots, plus hours of free shows on his website, prolific is the word. Have a watch of the video Chris made us below! And don't just take my word for it:
Mark Thomas: "One of a handful of comedians who are the future of British political comedy."
The Guardian: Likeably upbeat… an attractive cheekiness… By Coltrane's account, protest is getting funnier – which can only be good news for political comedy.
Independent: "One to watch on the Fringe this year". "A highlight of last year’s Free Fringe… …cuts his righteous anger with more than enough charm, wit and well-judged anecdotes to make it fly…"
Time Out: "Talented, passionate political stand-up."
Chortle: ★★★★ for solo show Activism Is Fun. "Brilliantly entertaining… passion, humour and charismatic likeability… genuinely fun, establishing Coltrane as both a relevant and witty political voice on the comedy circuit."
