VHS Boys Varsity Basketball Team

VALDEZ HOSTED QANIQ CHALLENGE SKI RACE LAST WEEKEND

This past weekend, the VHS skiers participated in the two-day Qaniq Challenge in Valdez. The race was broken up into two days for a total of 23 miles between two different courses. The race consisted of the people of Valdez and several U.S. champions from APU, as well as two-time Olympian—Holly Brooks. Skier Rylee Norris finished 6th overall in the women’s division. VHS skier Ben Swanson  finished 10th overall in the men’s division.

CVEA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Applications for CVEA Scholarships are now available.  Two scholarships are available: one $2,000 general scholarship and one Youth Rally Scholarship.  Application deadline is 5 pm Monday, Feb 1stCLICK HERE for more information.


Parks and Rec’s Healthier You Kick-Off will be Saturday, January 30th from 2-5 pm at the Civic Center.  The program is free and includes activities, workouts, and weight loss tracking.  Sign up on your own or create a team for the chance to earn great prizes.

PWSC DRAMA AUDITIONS 

The PWSC Drama Department is holding auditions for the workshop production of a new play by Sylvia Khoury on Sunday, January 31st and Monday, February 1st.  There are roles for 6 to 15 actors.  Auditions are open to the community, recommended age 16 and up.  Performances will be March 25 and 26.  Scripts can be picked up at the Assistant to the President's office.
