CONSTRUCTION CAUSES FRUSTRATION FOR DRIVERS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES
Road construction season is underway and Valdez is feeling the affects. Business owner Laura Saxe of Eagles Rest RV Park said she is excited to see improvements, but feels local and state officials do not understand how much starting this project late and having an unclear plan is adversely affecting business. According to Saxe, the project is behind schedule and there is much confusion over where the construction will be each day.

NAMED 2016 U.S. PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR

2016 U.S. Presidential Scholars have been announced and Michael "Mickey" Radotich, a graduating senior at Valdez High School, is one of two students selected from Alaska. The
U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 by executive order of the President to recognize distinguished high school seniors. Each Presidential Scholar has been offered the opportunity to name his or her most influential teacher. Radotich named Adam Sharrai of Valdez High School.

KTVA- It’s a world record allergy sufferers may not be happy to hear about — Fairbanks set it on Monday for the highest levels of birch pollen in a single 24 hour period. Allergy doctor Jeff Demain said Monday’s count shattered the old world record that was set in Sweden several years ago.
