BAGS OF LOVE - DONATE FLEECE MATERIAL BY THIS THURSDAY
Girl Scouts Troop #524 and 243 are asking for donations of:
FLEECE MATERIAL
1 ½ Yard Pieces or 2 Yard Pieces
to make blankets for the Bags of Love program for Foster Kids.  Drop off material at the KVAK studios by this Thursday,  December 31st.  The Girl Scouts will make blankets for the Bags of Love Program. If you would like to make your own blanket and donate, feel free to do so.  Call Laurie at 255-5825 or Megan at 831-1482 with any questions.

VALDEZ POST OFFICE HAS BUSIEST DAY EVER

The Valdez Post Office had its busiest day ever in this year's holiday rush.  On Monday, December 14th, they received 1,677 packages.  There have been other days with very high numbers as well.  The post office employees worked hard to get things delivered for the holidays. 

UPCOMING SPORTS EVENTS
 
Valdez High School will host two different sports events next weekend.  On Friday, January 8^th thru Saturday, January 9^th the VHS basketball team will be facing their conference rivals the Hutchison Hawks, which will mark the very first home game of the season.  Next weekend, the VHS Ski team is hosting their home invite with multiple teams from around Alaska for races in both classical and skate skiing. This will be the ski team’s only home invite of the season until Regions on February 19^th thru February 20^th.  



WELCOME BABY CAROLINE

Joshua and Britany Cabello welcomed Caroline Anacleta Cabello to the world on December 23rd, 2015.  She weighed 7 lb, 8 oz. and was 19.75 inches long.  Congratulations!
  



 Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Franklin!  They were married Dec. 26th.  


CVEA BYLAWS AMENDMENT DEADLINE
Members may propose Bylaw amendments for placement on the 2016 ballot by filing a petition with the Board of Directors.  Petitions must be signed by at least ten percent of the membership and submitted prior to 5:00pm, Monday January 4th, 2016.  Current Bylaws can be found on cvea.org by clicking the About Us link. 

CVEA ACCEPTING BOARD NOMINATIONS FOR 2016
Three director seats are up for election in 2016; one seat in the Valdez District and two seats in the Copper Basin District.  Nomination packets can be picked up at CVEA or mailed to you.
