WOMEN’S DERBY WEIGH-IN HOURS

Aug 14th – Women’s Silver Salmon Sisterhood® Derby: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

PRIZES - Anglers with top three biggest fish will win!
$1,000 CASH plus Prospector Prizes (Value $1,000)
$500 CASH plus Prospector Prizes (Value $500)
$300 CASH plus Prospector Prizes (Value $300)

REGISTRATION
At The Prospector August 7th-14th
Prospector Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8am to 9pm / Saturday: 8am to 8pm / Sunday: 10am to 6pm
Prospector Derby Day Hours: Saturday, 5:30am to Noon
Tickets are $20, + Silver Salmon Derby Ticket (daily or season).
ALL Registrants will get to sign up to win one of 3 awesome Prospector Prize Packages

BEFORE GOING TO WEIGH-IN 
Please check the leaderboard. If your fish is not a contender for one of the Top 3 Spots, please do not bring in for an official weigh-in to help minimize the numbers of people at weigh-in. Leaders will be posted on whiteboards at weigh-in station and by Cleaning Tables by Harbormasters Winners will be posted on whiteboards and the top 3 winners will be posted on our Valdez Fish Derbies website shortly after weigh-in closes at 8pm.

DOOR PRIZES
10 Women who register will be chosen at random to win Door Prizes Packets, each with more than $100 in certificates.
Saturday, Aug 15th at 8pm Valdez Fish Derbies will post winners on website
DOOR PRIZES will be available for pick up at weigh-in station Sunday, Aug 15th – 9am to 8pm

ANC SEES RECORD CARGO VOLUMES AND A REBOUND IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN FIRST HALF OF 2021

The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) experienced record air cargo volumes during the first half of 2021 and saw a strong recovery in passenger traffic.
Between January and June, 1.73 million metric tons of air cargo transited ANC, a 23.45% increase over the first half of 2020. Read more

CVEA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTION SEASON

Local nonprofit organizations, don't miss your opportunity to apply for funding for new or expanding projects or programs during the Copper Valley Electric Community Foundation Contribution Season.
The CVEA Foundation’s Board approved over $19 thousand dollars to fund the 2021 contribution season. Local organizations who meet Foundation guidelines are encouraged to apply. The deadline is August 19th. Don't wait!

TAGGED SALMON CONTEST STARTS THIS FRIDAY

Catch one of 20 tagged fish to win extra prizes, including $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 CASH! Other prizes include gift certificates and more! 

All Silver Salmon Derby Rules Apply. The number printed on each tag will be redeemable only for the corresponding numbered prize. Fish with numbered tag must be presented at the weigh-in station within prescribed period with tag fully intact and legible to redeem a prize.

On each Stan Stephens cruise, captains will travel the shorelines looking for the critters that call the Sound home.  Typically spotted are sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, Humpback or Orca whales, porpoise, eagles, puffins, cormorants and more.
