LEVITATION 49 COMPLETES WORK ON SHOUP TRAIL
Shoup Trail is now open for hiking and trail running, thanks to a lot of hard work from locals and Levitation 49. The trail goes from Valdez to Shoup Bay, a distance of 10 miles. The trail has been brushed out and improvements have been made to manmade trail features to make for safer travel. Cabins are available for rental and can be reserved online by clicking here
Levitation 49 is the permitted commercial operator of four state park units in Valdez: Worthington Glacier State Recreation Site and Blueberry Lake Campground on Thompson Pass as well as the 10-mile Shoup Trail and three public use cabins in Shoup Bay State Marine Park.

PINK SALMON ARE INTO ALLISON POINT IN VALDEZ
Anglers lined the shores of Allison Point this past weekend to catch pink salmon and many of them met success. Mike Waller of Easy Freeze said reports started coming in the last week of June that the pinks had arrived. “The pinks are in. They have been caught at Allison Point and I heard of one being caught behind the ballfields”. Last year at this time the first pinks were being caught at the narrows and beyond, but this year it appears they are a bit early. “The head of the run is definitely here”, Waller said.
