SURVEY RESULTS RELEASED:
WOMEN REPORT VERY HIGH RATE OF STALKING
The Alaska Victimization Survey 2015 results were released this week by the state Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault as well as the UAA Justice Center. The survey's authors estimate one in three
women in Alaska, or 80,800 women, have experienced stalking in their lifetime. They also estimate more than 15,300 women, or one in seventeen
have been stalked in the past year. They also note estimates may be conservative because of the continuing stigma of reporting victimization.
