Here's what's happening this month at Gloucester Rd WI.

Celebrating International Women's Day

8th March was International Women’s Day so we shall celebrate this when we get together for our meeting on the 20th.

In what might be a first for Gloucester Road WI, we will have two speakers.
The first is lawyer Bethan Evans. She studied law at Bristol University and has built up 35 years of experience, specialising in local government.
The second is journalist and author Jane Duffus. Her book The Women Who Built Bristol was recently published with all profits going to Bristol Women's Voice.

Many thanks to everyone who brought along an item or placed a winning bid at February's meeting. We raised £129.75 which is a great start to our fundraising for LinkAge Bristol.

Cakes & Bakes at Meetings

We will continue to raise some funds with cakes and bakes this year. Please don't forget to sign up to bring some along to meetings as well as buying a slice (or two!) on the night.

Community News

Foodbank

One of our members has kindly volunteered to start collecting items for foodbanks at our meetings. Please bring along your donations of non-perishable items and toiletries.

Looking Ahead

Grow Off

If you are thinking  about entering some homegrown produce in this year's grow off / make off / bake off in September then you might need to start planning your planting now!

WI Resource Area

Did you try Liz's Red Dragon Pie at the February meeting? Well the recipe is now available in the Resource Area of our website.
Do you have a great recipe or craft project that you'd like to share? If so email it in to us at info@gloucesterroadwi.org and we can add it to the WI Resource Area on our website!
