Here's what's happening this month at Gloucester Rd WI.

A Fit & Healthy 2016

New membership sign-up, Vicki Hill, donation to Mothers for Mothers and NFWI Resolutions

Happy new year! This month we have Vicki Hill, local personal trainer and women's fitness guru coming along to chat to us about exercise and nutrition, and to get us doing a few key exercises that we can all do to help us feel fitter and healthier in 2016!

Membership for 2016

It's also time to sign up for 2016 membership. It will be on a first come first serve basis at this meeting, and costs £37.50.

We will open the doors at 7pm, and we'll have several tables set up taking renewals and any brand new members. All members (new and renewals) will need to fill out a membership form to ensure everyone’s details are up to date. If you can please print and fill this out in advance.

Membership Form 2016.pdf

Please pre-prepare your cheque/cash (please bring exact money) and hand it in along with your completed membership form.

If you are renewing but can't make the meeting, you can ask a friend to bring the cheque and membership form along for you in January or you can post it to us: 66 Wessex Avenue, Horfield, BS7 0DB.

NFWI Resolutions

The resolution we put forward – Ban the Microbead has been shortlisted as a potential NFWI campaign! We now all need to vote to get this taken forward to the NFWI 2016 Annual meeting. Fundraising

Mothers for Mothers

We'll be presenting a cheque to last year's nominated charity at the meeting, and we'll be hearing a few words from them about the amazing work they do.

Nominated Charity for 2016

Our charity this year, as nominated by members in November, will be Carers Support Centre. We are planning various fundraising events this year, including running our quiz again. More information throughout the year.

Cake!

We've had feedback from members that cake would go down very nicely at the meetings! So we'll now have cake on sale with the proceeds going to our nominated charity. We do need volunteers to bake so sign-up at the next meeting. And if you fancy bringing any along next week please do - the committee will be very grateful!

Gloucester Road WI Facebook page

This new page is for the general public to 'like' us and to keep in touch with what we are up to. We will still keep our group for members only, but this public page gives us a chance to engage more with the community and the wider WI world online, so head over to the page and give it a 'like' and share to your mates!
