Witchcraft with Professor Ronald Hutton

We welcome Professor Ronald Hutton (find out more on his Wikipedia page) from Bristol University this month, who will be talking about Village Magic and Witchcraft


Meet as usual at St. Andrew's Bowling Club, Derby Road from 7.30pm.

But before that it's our Big Charity Quiz! See you at Alchemy on Friday. (We are sold out so please only come along if you have reserved or have a ticket.)

Charity Quiz 15th November

Doors open 7.30pm, quiz starts at 8pm. There will be a special cocktail on sale for the event a G&T 'Lady Garden' £8 for one or £15 for two, plus nibbles on the tables. Don't forget you cash for our raffle too. And we'll be announcing the winners of our 'Get Creative – Celebrate Women!' competition
 

Cakes and Bakes at Meetings

Cake sales are going well this year and we are almost halfway towards our target of £200. Please bring cakes or other baked goods next month as this is our last opportunity this year to raise funds.
 

Charity Nomination for 2019

Thank you for everyone who nominated a charity, we have chosen 1625 Independent People as our charity for 2019.

Looking Ahead

Christmas Meeting

Our Christmas party will be another 'bring a dish to share' party on the 10 December (1 week earlier than our usual meeting date). At the next meeting we'll be handing out tickets for you to choose to bring either a sweet or a savoury dish. There'll be games, raffle, a free drink, and plenty of food to share.

Club News

Knit and Stitch: Meet as usual on the 1st Tuesday of the month at the Welly pub. Speak to Hannah Lowery

Book Group: Next meeting is 4 December and the book is The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton.
