Here's what's happening this month at Gloucester Rd WI

April 2019

Embroidery with Jemima Lumley

Time for some craft with former member and local jewellery designer, Jemima Lumley, who'll be showing us how to create a beautiful embroidered appliqué piece that can be framed. We'll have all the materials you'll need but if you can bring along a basic sewing kit (with a needle suitable for embroidery) that will be helpful.

We’ll have our usual WI business and updates then move onto the craft session. As always please remember to bring along cakes to share and if you are not baking please bring some cash to buy some (we'll have paper bags to take-away if you are not peckish in the evening)! This year we are really trying to reach our fundraising target so every cake counts!

We are calling for entries in the form of a creative piece so no set categories, we’re interested in your response. It could be a poem, short story, painting, photograph, craft piece or any other imaginative example you can show. Let's see how creative our WI can be!

Cakes and Bakes at Meetings

This is a great fundraiser for us but we haven't had many bakers recently. Please bring along a bake, cake or shop bought treat to share with members and raise money for our charity. We are setting ourselves a target of raising £200 this year just from meeting cake sales, so please help out.
