Dear Supporter
Transformational Teacher Training Programme Update
As another successful school year draws to an end the pupils in Kindergarten Year 2 are getting ready to say goodbye to their teachers and move to Primary school. Many of the schools in the Central and Western Regions have marked this occasion with wonderful graduation ceremonies, which you can read more about here.
Central Region

The OLA College of Education lecturers delivered the last jam-packed Intensive Training Workshop in May. This four-day workshop covered behaviour management, creativity and parental involvement and we were delighted to receive a visit from Mr. Madeez Adamu-Issah, Education Specialist at UNICEF. Find out more about this workshop here.

Western Region

The team held their first Best Practice Forum this term. The forum provides an opportunity for teachers from all of the kindergarten schools we are working with to come together to share the fantastic and innovative ways they have been implementing the programme. The teachers have employed some amazingly creative upcycling to make sustainable classroom resources. Click here to find out more.
Building Better Schools Programme Update

2016 is one of the most exciting years for our school building programme as we are building four Model Kindergarten Schools this year and they are now all well underway. We have worked with our friends at Arup International Development to optimise the school design, reducing the footprint and cost of the school, making it a more affordable option for nationwide replication, whilst maintaining the quality of design and engineering. The four new schools we are building in the Western Region are all being built to this new scalable model. To find out about the progress of each school please click on the images below to read more.
#StepsforChange - How to get involved? - Why not join our 5 mile fun run

Earlier this month we launched our Steps for Change campaign – we hope you enjoyed our video, if you would like to watch it now please click HERE and share it with your friends using #StepsforChange.

We are asking our supporters to create their own steps challenge and help us reach 8 million steps to cover the 4,912 miles to take us from Cornwall to Ghana and raise valuable funds for education.

You can get creative with your steps challenge, why not have a dance-off, challenge yourself with a climb, walk as far as your legs will carry you and get sponsored for every step!

Or join our 5 mile fun run from Hampton Court on Friday 23rd September, finishing at Teddington Lock with a fabulous party! Please email Katie to register your interest and find out more!
